Postcard Frenzy
It's been some time since I last posted THE namecards... but really, I haven't been collecting any nice cards these days...
I love postcards though! Here are some cute white postcards I have in my collection. I guess it's the contrast between the white space and the subject that makes the postcard stand out more than the usual full-colour ones.

Artsier Fartsier Cards
Oh don't you even dare think that I ran out of cards after running the previous three series of cards on my blog. I've still got some left, and anyone who cares to contribute, feel free to do so, thank you!
So we've taken a look at minimalist cards where the aesthetics are kept relatively clean. They might be your thing, but it might not be.
This time, we move on to flashier, artier cards. They are quite hard to find actually, given that most corporate companies are always sticking to the drab white verbose style to maintain a dry, professional image.
Hands down the hottest name card I have in my collection. It's a graphic designer's card.
This card's got a very earthy, unpolished feel to it, like natural grunge. The coarse texture reminds me of hemp.
Employing photography is a good idea. This is actually a ticket card for the London Eye, but heck it's still a card.
Glossy, polished, youthful and disco pop-crazed. Can you feel the energy?
The 'Taste' stamp never fails to trick my mind into thinking that it's like some sort of a stamp of approval. Really effective.
Think Transformers. Think impressive.
Super kawaii!
Bright, fun, sprightly, exuberant, 100% NATURAL! Remember, an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Gritty and severe without losing its appeal, this card reflects well the urgency to combat global warming.

SIMPLE Name Cards pt 2
A little some more to browse through...
Simplistically cute. 
The card is such a delight. Not the same applies to the restaurant though...
A demure, oriental-inspired card . Material: platinum white
Lime green has taken over the 21st century, and here it is so succintly used to convey 'life'.
The calm, serene tone of this card communicates the relaxing atmosphere of the facial spa.
I like black cards. Period.
Minimalistic. Straightforward. Lovely.
When in doubt, just let the logo do the talking.
A nice little present wrapped neatly for your clients.

Here's another look at the name cards in my collection. This time, the theme is SIMPLE.

Cute... the card, I mean. Not the girl.
The white and pink compliment each other so well that it's as if the card is made out of sugar, spice and everything nice...and it mirrors the identity of the company well.
The laminated texture of this card is JUST sleek. The red/orange colour scheme is fiery! 
Gotta love the shadow effect.
Professional and suave
Tranquil-looking. So peaceful.
It can't get any simpler than this. Use this only if yours is a brand name, a catchy name or just plain weird.
Floral motives are blooming cute.

Name cards
I confess. I am a compulsive brochure/pamphlet/card/postcard/magazine hoarder. I've got boxes dedicated to storing whatever "nice crap" I have accumulated, stashed in my room. Anything that looks nice and is made from paper, I collect. I know I'm not exactly being very eco-friendly here, but that's not the point...
...So let me share with you some of the name cards I've collected. They are the nicer ones in my collection, but not the most outrageous cards you will ever find. It's quite hard to find creative ones here in Malaysia, which is a shame because name cards are a really effective communicative tool between you and the client/public. It serves as your identity, your little advertising gadget that fits neatly in everyone's wallet and are not as pesky as leaflets.
So let us all learn a thing or two from these cards below, and hopefully we'll see wackier cards to come.

Last but not least, my fabulous library card. The coolest SMKSAS library card you'll ever see.
Actually, these are pretty common once you've looked at the even wackier, offbeat and simply artistic ones in http://creativebits.org/cool_business_card_designs. Here, you'll see cards that can be folded/stretched/torn/shaped/peered into and are made from metal/cardboard/plastic/perspex/cloth/rubber/clay and God knows what else can the human brain do to poor name cards.

Nothing much...
A lazy post... I'm in the middle of trying to figure out how Sony Vegas Pro works here. Freaking complex like manning a damn Airbus.
Last December I've been reconnecting with my creative streak (if I have one) in between meet-and-greet sessions with relatives by engaging in craftwork. Craftwork is fun!!! It's actually one of the things I ENJOY doing immensely since I was a lil' kid.
So I did this.
A little gift for my uncle's housewarming party. It was pretty last minute, so I had to whack it up under 3 hours.
It's an Ikea frame, but I used the back of the frame as the front instead. Meaning: the back as in the part where you usually have the foldable paper stand? That's why the frame has got a "step" to it.
(Ugh, see the orange and red on different layers? Yes, that's the "step".)
Anyway, I've been terribly busy these few days. My to-do-list is shockingly and dishearteningly long. My fault, anyway. Have been too carried away with the holiday mood and the whole reunion scene.
I have no life.

Ms Erica
I know it's a little too late now, but better late than never kan?
This post is a tribute to Miss Erica Toh, a trainee teacher posted to our school one time. After 2 or 3 terrific months under her guidance, she had to leave us for Malacca to get hitched. She was fun, always making us do different (silly) stuff to get us to learn. She wasted a lot of mahjongg paper though. Hopefully she gave them to Ming Hui to recycle. Her sessions are always enjoyable because she was always:
a) getting bullied by Wye Hong
b) being flirted with by Wye Hong
c) receiving bullshit from Wye Hong
She was the only teacher to BUY BIRTHDAY CAKES for the birthday girls and guys in our class! Now why did my mum and dad get it on in January? They should have waited until August or something.
And if that was not selfless enough, she even personally handmade souvenirs for each and every one of us in my class. Not just cincai boncai bantai punya souvenir, but angelically dainty little gift boxes with a personal note and candies inside.
If she's not a saint then I don't know who is.
